I've been thinking about the ladies in my life, and the struggle some of them are going through right now. There is so much pressure today on women to be everything to everybody, and it's just not possible. I also think we are hardest on ourselves, when really all we need is a little bit of grace.
You might be reading this and thinking, "You just don't understand. I legitimately cannot give anything up right now, and I can't let any of these balls I am juggling drop. People are counting on me, I have bills to pay, and a house to maintain." My response would be that you are right, but unless you can find some sense of balance, and something to anchor yourself to, you are going to spin your wheels until the day you spin them right into your grave. And you may forfeit some really beautiful things God has for you along the way.
We all want to feel like we matter, that we are strong, and that we are good enough. Where does your sense of worth come from? What fills your energy tank and what drains it? When life gets crazy, what or who do you hold on to?
I hold on to the Jesus of my faith. My sense of worth comes from knowing I am a daughter of the King and I am fulfilling the calling he has placed on my life. I know that if I do not have daily quiet time and a great workout to recharge my energy tank, you probably don't want to be around me!
I encourage you to take the time to answer these questions for yourself because you are worth it!
